Frequently asked questions
How do weighted shares work?
Weights describe each person’s portion of the total. If one person has weight 2 and two people have weight 1, their shares are 50%, 25%, and 25%.
Does FairShare store my bill online?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and saves the current bill only in local browser storage so you can return to it later.
How does FairShare handle rounding?
It calculates in cents and assigns any remainder cents deterministically. That keeps the settlement balanced even when the total cannot divide evenly.
Can I use a different currency?
Yes. Romanian leu (RON) is the default, and you can also choose INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD, or AED. The selected currency is used throughout the results and report.
